Melbourne Grammar's Openly Gay School Captain Speaks Out

Daniel Cash Highlights Meaningful Discourse at His School

WEB Daniel Cash, a law student at ANU and former captain of Melbourne Grammar School, has spoken out about the importance of meaningful discourse at his alma mater.

Cash, who is openly gay, has been vocal in his opposition to the Presbyterian Church's proposal to ban LGBT students from holding leadership positions in schools.

In a recent article, Cash wrote that the church's position "came as a shock" to him.

"I had always felt supported and accepted at Melbourne Grammar School," he wrote. "I never thought that my sexuality would be an issue."

Cash's comments have been widely praised by other members of the Melbourne Grammar School community.

"Daniel is a courageous and articulate young man," said one former teacher. "His voice is an important one in this debate."

Cash's story has also been picked up by national media outlets, including The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.

It is clear that Cash's story has resonated with many people.

His message of tolerance and acceptance is one that we should all take to heart.
